How can I find out if a therapist is qualified?
All Speech and Language Therapists should be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
Registered members of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT) adhere to the ethical and professional standards outlined by RCSLT. A list of registered members is available on their website:

Do I need a referral from my GP?
No. If you have concerns regarding your child's speech and language development, you can contact me directly via email/telephone. If your health visitor or GP has requested Speech and Language, I will discuss their reasons for referral with you.

Can I see both NHS and private therapist?
Yes. If you are waiting to reach the top of an NHS waiting list or filling the gaps between NHS sessions. I will always ensure that any progress or targets are shared with the relevant professionals. ( With permission granted.)
How do I know if my child requires speech therapy?
An initial conversation ( free of charge) will help establish the next steps. Sometimes, it may be another health professional is required, for example an Occupational Therapist. I am always happy to signpost and talk this through.
Do you offer training packages?
Yes! I am passionate that speech and language is accessible. This starts with a supportive communication environment at home and school. My approach is always to empower others to have the skills and confidence to deliver the recommended strategies.
